Here’s a good sample of what I’ve been up to of late.
I started out designing for news so it was fun to get back to my roots and design a new morning show package for Nexstar’s News Nation. The direction was to design a package that was sharp and vibrant and that had the versatility to handle both light and hard news.
The lighting in Cinema 4D was meant to evoke the sense of a sunrise and a tone of hopefulness.

This project was unlike anything I’ve done before. The DC Fandome was a mega, 24-hour, immersive virtual fan experience that brought the universe of DC to life featuring the stars, filmmakers and creators behind it’s biggest films, tv series, games and comics. Johnny Wong designed the DC Watch portion and I got to animate and design the full package.
Welcome to the multiverse!
I grew up watching the original in syndication and I was ready to pitch on the remake of this American martial arts action-adventure television series that premiered on The CW on April 7, 2021.
I had an opportunity to art direct and design this public service announcement drawing attention to the plight of millions of Africans living in the horn of Africa in desperate need of food, water and medical supplies.

I loved the movie adaptation of this classic Tom Wolfe novel, so when the chance to pitch this Disney + series came my way, let’s just say all systems were go.
LA Screenings, for the uninitiated, is the end-all, be-all of important events for Warner Bros. For a week we have folks looking to buy shows and they come from all over the world. It’s an exciting time of year because we get to make a reel to show off all the great shows in production on the lot.

This is a fun spot I got to work on with editor and producer Matt McElhannon at Warner Bros.
Inspired by the comic book series by Mike Mignola, Richard Pace and Troy Nixey, BATMAN: THE DOOM THAT CAME TO GOTHAM is a 1920s-based tale that finds explorer Bruce Wayne accidentally unleashing an ancient evil, expediting his return to Gotham City after a two-decade hiatus. The logic/science-driven Batman must battle Lovecraftian supernatural forces threatening the sheer existence of Gotham, along the way being aided and confronted by reimagined versions of his well-known allies and enemies, including Green Arrow, Ra’s al Ghul, Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc, Two-Face, James Gordon and Bruce’s beloved wards. Prepare for a mystical, often terrifying Batman adventure unlike any other.
I was tasked with the pleasure of designing some graphics for a reel lauding the awarding of the Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award to super producer Greg Berlanti.

The Legends are back for the seventh and final season and they asked for a period piece for the credits. Gangsters, time travelers, and the legends. What more can you ask for?
An airliner missing for 5 years suddenly returns. Cue the theremin. I got the chance to update this classic with snazzy new 3d type.
Anyone who as grown up in the South or even in the world at large knows Dolly Parton. When I got the opportunity to pitch on this show for Netflix I was very excited to design this look that had a hand-crafted Etsy-like feel. Throw in some butterflies, flowers and some down-home charm and you have Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings.
This show on Fox about a profiler formally for the FBI, Malcolm Bright, whose father, Martin Whitly, is an infamous serial killer known as “The Surgeon” was an interesting and fun project to design and animate. Who doesn’t love a good psychological triller full of horrible crimes and inner demons?
How often do you get to combine your love of this creative show about the reluctant time-traveling super-heroish crew of Legends of Tomorrow with your love of all things punk collage? Answer; eh…not so often! I loved every minute of animation for this project. Credit goes out to Taka Ikari and Jonny Wong for design. Taka and myself handled the animation. Keep reaching for the stars, Waverunner!
Named as one of the top-ten television titles of 2018 by Promax/BDA (http://brief.promaxbda.org/article/daily-briefs-ten-favorite-main-titles-of-2018), this was an amazing fun project to work on. Taking the artwork of Robert Hack, our office got to design the logo and animate the main title.

Grayson, Kory Anders, Rachel Roth, Gar Logan, Jason Todd, Donna Troy, Dawn Granger, Hank Hall, Rose Wilson and Conner, otherwise known as the Titans are back for season two in this edgy teaser. Credit to editor Jonny Lopez for his excellent work.
This was a fun project for the WB Games division. I designed and animated the opening animation included in all WB Game titles.
Design/Animation: C. Burgess
The Big Bang Theory is one of Warner Bros most popular shows and our office got to design the look and shoot the talent for the syndication launch.
Design/Animation: C. Burgess / T. Ikari / J. Winbush
Ok we all know that not every situation comedy is going to be a Friends or a Big Bang Theory, but you hope so right? Well this sitcom didn’t stand the test of time but I had a lot of fun making it look funny. Better With You, we hardly knew ye!
Design/Animation: C. Burgess
This remains one of my favorite projects. Extra is a great show and when Jon Winbush and myself got to re-design and animate this show we had too much fun.
